Agressiveness of female ducorp’s cockatoo

Today, 7am… I somehow observed that my female docurps cockatoo is a bit agressive. She try to ‘catch’ the male. This is the first time I saw or heard about this behavior. Normally, for a cockatoo, the male will be agressive and try to attack the female if it is in their breeding condition. however, this is opposite.

I try to think about what I give to them that may effect or trigger this, but these few days I just give normal food/usual food for them. Paddy, sun flower seed, vegy and fruits (papaya with the seed)… the only change that I do since yesterday is that yesterday evening, I take out every food bowl from their cage…

it is my testing, whereby I will take out everything in the late evening and clean it. then, in the morning I will put the bowl with new food. I think this method is better as it will let the birds have freshes food and drink and also it will prevent vermins like cocroaches and rat to go to the cage or avairy for the leftover.

Somehow I have the feeling that the female ducorp is in the breeding mood put perhaps the male is not. That is why there are a sign of agressiveness in the female docurps behaviour. If she is, I hope this time I will manage to get some chick. it was very long times since they lay eggs but not hatch.
